It is the real-life story of Antonina Żabińska and her husband, Dr. Jan Żabiński who managed the Warsaw Zoo. Their country is invaded by the Germans and they areforced to report to the Hitler's newly appointed chief zoologist, Lutz Heck. To fight back on their own terms, Antonina and Jan covertly begin working with the Resistance - and put into action plans to save lives out at great risk to their own and their childrens'.
