Remember a few years ago when Director Ari Gold was in the area shooting a film with the working title "Begin the Beguine"? We've been trying to get the finished product for several months and here it is! Rory Culkin stars. The Song of Sway Lake was with us in August, but so many people told us that they were dying to see the film but couldn’t make it during the busy summer season that we decided to bring it back for one encore performance.
Variety says of this film, "Writer/director Ari Gold’s engaging new film “The Song Of Sway Lake” focuses on a young man (played by Rory Culkin) coming to terms with his father’s suicide. In the course of trying to find a rare, valuable record album his father kept at their old lake house, the young man encounters varying depths of nostalgia, family dysfunctions, romance, and embraces the power of letting go." Tickets for the movie only are $7 for adults, $5 for those under 18. Rated R.
For this encore performance, we are also working wth the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts on a special celebration of Sway Lake following the 2 pm showing. We invite you to check out that celebration (held at Blue Mountain Lake’s Crane Point Lodge, where the movie was filmed) at 5 pm. See our next entry for details of that event.
