The Death of Stalin

It's been a while since we've had a wickedly irreverent satire on our screen.  The Death of Stalin features a wonderful ensemble cast who explore the rise and fall of political fortunes in 1953 Moscow.  Steve Buscemi stars as Nikita Khrushchev with Jeffrey Tambor as Georgy Malenkov.  Simon Russell Beale and Rupert Friend also star.  As their tyrannical dictator lies in state, his cronies engage in power struggle for who should be the next Soviet leader.  Who knew that bureaucratic bumbling and political intrigue could be so funny in a slapstick sort of way?  The Tomatometer at Rotten Tomatoes gave this one a 96% rating with a 78% audience approval.  Rated R.  107 minutes.  Tickets $7 for adults, $5 for those under 18.
