This 1970s era love story is set in Harlem. When Tish Rivers falls in love with her childhood friend, artist Alonzo Hunt, the young couple finds their dreams of a beautiful life together derailed as Alonzo (known as Fonny) is jailed for a crime he didn’t commit. Tish maintains her faith in and love for her husband with the help of a strong family - in spite of a racially-charged and difficult world. Regina King recently won a Golden Globe for her performance in this film. Beale Street is based on a novel by James Baldwin and directed by Barry Jenkins (who also directed last year’s Oscar-winning film, Moonlight). Rated R. 119 minutes. Tickets $7 for adults, $5 for those under 18.
