Rent the Theater

 Did you know that you can rent the Indian Lake Theater for your special film screening, meeting, live performance, or family event? Rental is an affordable $150 for a half day (4 hours) or $200 for a full day.

Please note that your rental date is not reserved until payment is received and your event is confirmed by Indian Lake Theater staff.

  • Rental of Indian Lake Theater includes the use of the lobby and the backstage area. It also includes, if needed:

    • Stage lighting
    • Use of microphones and PA system
    • Four banquet tables and assorted chairs
    • Digital projector (photo slideshow or Powerpoint presentation)

    (Note: at least one hour before the presentation should be allowed for A/V setup and fine-tuning)

    One ILT staff member will be on hand for technical assistance and general oversight.

    Only approved individuals may operate the theater’s technical systems.

    No event may be scheduled to end less than two hours prior to any ILT regular movie showing or presentation.

    Unless you require the use of the stage as part of your rental, please keep yourself and all guests away from the stage, the speakers, and the film screen. The Indian Lake Theater assumes no liability for injuries sustained in these areas. The renter will be responsible for all damages to any part of the facility and/or facility equipment. The renter will also be responsible for any missing theater equipment or property.

    Indian Lake Theater assumes no liability for injury or accidents that occur during the event, whether inside or outside the building.

    For privately ticketed events, there will be a ticketing surcharge of $1.00 per ticket for the first 150 tickets sold. We also reserve the right to sell concessions when appropriate.

  • Decorating and set-up cannot interfere with regular movie showtimes or other scheduled events. Please consult with the House Manager in advance of your event to allow time for setup.

    Nothing may be taped, tacked, or otherwise attached to auditorium walls. The back stage area, onstage area, and the lobby are allowed to be decorated. Emergency exits to the left and right of the stage MUST be kept clear at all times.

    You may bring your own food and drinks or hire a caterer for your event. All cleanup of outside food/drink is the responsibility of the renter.

    It is the responsibility of the renter to clean up after a private event. Cleaning must be completed within the rental period without exception. In the event that a renter does not perform sufficient cleanup, there will be a charge of $50.00 for each hour that ILT staff are occupied with said cleanup.

  • Setbuilding will be allowed on stage and in the backstage area. Absolutely no painting or construction is to be done in the auditorium seating area. Costume and softgoods work may be done in the seating area. No loading in or out, or construction, will be allowed until the movie screen is raised. Emergency exits to the left and right of the stage MUST be kept clear at all times.

    No open flame or incense will be allowed in the auditorium or on stage.

    The theater is no longer allowing long-term storage of props, scenery, or costumes in the building. Our storage space is extremely limited and must be conserved for theater properties only.

    Due to the lack of a green room or dressing rooms in the theater, food and drink are permitted in the backstage area. Receptacles will be provided for both garbage and recyclables. Please be courteous!

  • NO ONE is to enter the building without an ILT staff member present.
    • The emergency exits to the left and right of the stage WILL NOT be blocked by staging, sets, props, or for any other reason.
    • All food and costume messes backstage are to be cleaned up by your group. Garbage bags, garbage cans, and a dumpster are all readily available.
    • All staging/ sets will be struck ENTIRELY on closing night.
    • No props or sets are allowed to be stored in the theater after closing night.
    • Any tech requirements (lighting, audio, etc.) MUST be emailed to the house manager at least one week in advance of the show.
    • All in-house rehearsal schedules MUST be emailed to the house manager at least one week in advance of the first rehearsal. Rehearsal times will NOT be changed at the last minute.
    • The correct TIME, TITLE, AND TICKET PRICE for your event must be emailed to Indian Lake Theater at least one month before the event so that it may be included in our monthly schedule.
    • Information about show run times and intermissions MUST be emailed to the house manager at least one week in advance of the show.
    • Ticketing for your events is the responsibility of your staff. A final head count WILL be provided to ILT staff by the end of closing night.
    • The balance of your Rental Fee and ILT’s $1.00 per ticket surcharge are due 30 days from closing night. Itemized invoices are available upon request.
